So as I move into the more mechanical aspect of the project, I'm trying to push forward a system that's fairly detailed but simple in its intent. After another discussion with [R]ed[U]x Lab it seems as though it may not be as simple as I anticipated, (when is it ever really...) The 'pavilion' or 'boathouse' component to the design is turning into a more staggered design in plan that could implement more than one docking scenario, which will add some dynamism to the design. I'm currently pumping out a finalized form in rendered model space that will hopefully portray my system better, but here's some initial sketches on how the lifting and dock mechanisms may work;

figure two (top left)~shows some rigging mechanisms that hang the boat from the dock 'fins'
figure three (bottom)~investigating how the boats are placed in the water as the dock is introduced to the water. this at the moment is causing me some fundamental problems at the moment so I've continued on working on resolving how a secure dock can exist and at the same time have it launch the boats.
