Based on these single cell organisms which form a voronoi pattern, I will be designing a botanical garden that resides itself underneath the Toronto Gardiner at Bathurst and Lakeshore. Weaving itself under the expressway, the structure of the garden will clamp and attach itself around the concrete pillars and suspend itself above grade.
At the moment I need to design the connections which will attach like bird claws around each pillar. Still got some ways to go, with some actual designing.
anyways,

Remember that the connections will arise as stylistic necessities - try to take on the macro-level idea of what your project is trying to do and how it should look rather than jump to ideas about the smaller details. Inevitably everything will have to be considered for the SSEF entry, but your overall design should be assembled first! Keep the big design intention ahead of the details for now - we can work them out later on!
ReplyDeleteIf you look at last years blog, I think Jordan had a similar idea initially, you could maybe revisit it for ideas. I think roughly this post and earlier ones kind of talks about playing with that garden idea.
