Ghetto photos of P1 progress

I had to take them with my phone, the capture thing was too annoying.

Here are a lot of the pieces that fit/join together to make my elevated walk. I'm not sure if I posted it earlier but I am designing an outdoor track that is elevated 5m over 3 empty fields that are located under transmission/power towers within a suburban neighborhood. The public walk is 250m in length so about 3mins or so each lap.

Its made of steel obviously but because of the traction on the track, i am adding a thin layer of concrete to provide the traction during all season weather. I have to see if there is also another material that is softer and better for winter/rain such as one found on an actual running track. I don't know if i can just throw that soft rubber-like material on but we'll see.

Here we have the basic structure that will hold the track. It is held together by 3 continuous rails that follow the path of the level track. the platform of the track will sit nicely on the flat surface. Yes I know I can't just place it on top, I will have to design some connections.

The triangular brace will be supported by a vertical structure in which I am trying to finalize before the Superbowl...

Looks similar to a monorail track eh?

This is the generic track with a decapitated tower I am still trying to rebuild/design.

The bottom of the tower will serve as the ascent to the track level. While many people seem to shun away from these towers I wanted to make the users break the fear or disregard for the towers by making them experience the awkwardness of the bottom of tower onto track level.

"It's okay, don't be shy."

Here is an upskirt shot of the entrance platform to the track. I have to redesign the structural bracing of the track because of the new platform it must hold to connect the track.

Here is the underneath of the entrance platform with some connections to the existing tower. The red tube will serve as a direct connection and bracing of the tower to track.

Here is the typical railing you will see on the track. Some horizontal wires running through along with some screws and such.

I was experimenting with some canopy connections using the 3 railings located underneath. This canopy will be found in 2 or 3 places on the track to provide shade while using the track walk. I tried to incorporate the handlebar railing as support structure but I have yet to figure it out.

The proposed canopy.

I think that's it for tonight. I wish I went out but with 3 months left in school I am trying to fight the urge. I'm gonna crack at this for a little longer and get some rest for tomorrow before work.

Signed,

From the Future
