1.1 The Floater/Tying Up Loose Ends

Just some last things before I post the model space version. I have somewhat finalized the general form and site footprint as you can see in the middle, and I have finally resolved having the dock system idea mesh with the boat storage hanging idea. You can see with the bottom right section diagram that I want the dock to launch boats as it is slowly deployed.

Here's the section up close. On a side note you can see the word 'Grim' as in Grimshaw as in the Waterloo Train Station because I have to start considering cross bracing between the structural members as noted by [R]ed[U]x Lab in our last discussion.

Ultimately, the rowers will launch from dry land as the boats and docks are deployed, and when they come back from training, they will have multiple landings since the docks will be fully deployed. The middle diagram shows in plan how there are more landing scenarios in comparison to launching. You can also see that I have added a more permanent pier scenario so that the docks don't become islands that you become stranded on.

Here's the plan version, you can see that once the docks are deployed there's a gap left in between dry land and wet land. This is space for two boats to land as opposed to one spot to launch when the boats are being placed into the water. The pier adds a walkable space so the docks themselves aren't islands.

I also played around with the shape of the structural steel that also becomes a guide for the dock system when it is deployed. You can see the 'box-ish' flanges open up as the dock it introduced to the water.

For now that's it before I post up some model space pictures by tomorrow night after another crit.
