If you haven't read Venturi yet...

Though the studio will shift quickly to an exploration on the overt spectacle of Las Vegas, it should be reinforced that reading Venturi/Brown would be critical in designing for the final project. The notions of the decorated shed and duck have been discussed in an earlier lecture in the studio, however to add credence to Venturi's observations in the late 60's, these projects continue to arise as towns and cities with inferiority complexes attempt to make a name for themselves via monumentalizing inferiority or kitsch.

In a rather serendipitous turn of events, a brief showcase of tacky buildings in the shape of food has been put up recently HERE.
